NAME:   Aaron Snyder
NICKNAME(S):  A-ron,
AGE:    22

YEARS AS A PRO: 3
HOMETOWN:
Gilbertsville, PA
HOBBIES:
Photography, kayaking, not being inside.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MT. BIKING:

I started riding when I was 11, when my mom wouldn’t let me have a dirt bike to ride with my uncle who raced enduros.  Instead, he took me mountain biking with my department store bike.  I started riding the local trails and raced for the first time that fall in 2000.  I raced the first timer class at a local event and won it!  Since then I’ve been racing almost every weekend during the season for 10 years now, pushing myself to get better each year.  This stuff never gets old!

FAVORITE RACE OR CONTEST:

Windham Mt. ProXCT course, can not wait to race the World Cup event there in the fall of 2010.  Locally, Bear Creek in Pennsylvania has a pretty killer, flowy, technical XC course.

BEST PLACE RIDING HAS TAKEN YOU:

Phoenix, Arizona for a National Series event.  I spent 7 days living in a 15 foot U-haul truck with 3 other buddies.  It was crowded, uncomfortable, and a less than ideal set up for a national event.  To me, it’s those kinds of stories that make me love what I do.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2010:

Sleeping in airports, pushing the big ring, climbing podiums, dropping people, 5 hour rides, cracking the top 10 at Nationals, and going back to Europe.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY:

Camping out in Michaux State Forest with my buddies Matt and Brandon, hitting up back to back 5 hour epic trail rides with some Lupine Lights, then packing up and heading back home to mix up some awesome lasagna with my girlfriend.
